Tigger Balou

Sligo Candy Boy - Balou du Rouet x

Sea Crest/King Elvis

17.1hh

This enormous, powerful and athletic young mare stands at over 17hh, she has been backed, ridden away and shown huge potential over a fence.  She has outstanding paces with an enormous ground covering trot, lovely balanced canter and the gallop of a born eventer.  I purchased her sight unseen on the strength of her breeding and video over a jump from the lady who imported her from Ireland.

Unfortunately she lost her 2021 foal this year following foaling.  She is back in foal to GFS Fire and Ice and scanned with a live heartbeat.

Our younger mares are currently for sale due to reducing our numbers with the aim for a slightly easier life with our advancing years and our older girls here for the remainder of their years.

Tigger is by the outstanding young Irish Sporthorse stallion Sligo Candy Boy (Balou de Rouet - Cornetto/Tin Rocco) out of a jumping mare by the legend that is Sea Crest, sire to one of the most influential Irish sport horse sires ever Cruising.

She was purchased as a broodmare despite her obvious talent and having shown great promise under saddle, jumping and hunting. We had planned on breeding some sensational future competition horses from this superb girl.

Sligo Candy Boy Is An Outstanding Irish Sports Horse Stallion By Balou De Rouet.

The Irish Sports Horse Society describe him during his second stage assessments as “…a very attractive modern sport horse. He has a quality in all paces with a light balanced canter. When jumping he has excellent reflexes, with good bascule. He is very good behind and a little open in front which is understandable for his age (4 years). He shows ample scope and looks very careful, obedient, responsive and willing.” He is certainly a wet made good looking stallion standing in Sligo for Padcraig Howley.

Balou de Rouet, his Sire, is a consistently popular stallion with an excellent temperament and movement with a powerful jump. In 2013, the year of Sligo Candy Boy’s Stallion testing in Ireland, Balou De Rouet was ranked 77 (WBFSH stallion list) in the world and the following year made a meteoric rise to 36th due to the successes of his offspring.

At Windsor in May Sligo /candy Boy had a fantastic show he got placed in the sports horse class. Came 6th in the royal international worker qualifier and placed in the 6 year old show jumping class.

He has jumped double clear newcomers foxhunter and 1.25. In July he did his first international young horse show at keysoe where he got placed every day and jumped some fantastic rounds.

He has been successful in the 6 year old qualifiers this year and the aim is to move upto 1.30 level over the winter and get ready for the 7 year olds next year with the young horse championships at lanken

This mare's dam was by the absolutely legendary Sea Crest of the Hartwell Stud.  Sea Crest was a very successful Grade A Showjumper Ridden by Edward Doyle In the 1980's winning numerous National Grand Prix's, and was unbeatable on the indoor circuit. He sired many International Showjumpers and Eventers Including the inimitable character and extraordinarily talented  Cruising CSIO5* WEG, European champion ships, nations cups and winner of many Grand prix's including Aachen CSI5* , Lenamore CCI4* & Olympics 2012 .

Cash Flow CSIO4* , Nires Crest (Scandinavian) , Hoochi Koochi (Spain) CCI4* & Olympics 1996

Ladaka (Irl) CCI4* & Olympics 1998, Cruise Forever, Cloud Burst, The Irish One , Menuhin (Canadian),

Sir Rivie (RID) Stallion, Mexican Wave , hyds sea Quest (RID) Stallion, and many more.

With this exceptional breeding, we are hoping with all our hearts that this stunning mares genetics will flow freely through the veins of her progeny!

GFS Pandora

GFS Fire and Ice x Crown's Ace of Pearl/Hubbly Bubbly

14/05/2016

Spotted Double Dilute

Reg: Anglo European Studbook

 16.3/17hh approx

This young mare is an incredibly rare double dilute warmblood who also carries the Lp gene. Capable of producing both dilute, double dilute and a 50% chance of spotted offspring too!

Pandora would be equally impressive were she simply bay or chestnut.

Pandora has produced an absolutely sensational filly this year, a palomino with snowflake spots on her hindquarters.  She has proven herself an exceptional mother, she handled foaling and every aspect of motherhood with both ease and a calm acceptance.  I would dearly love to continue breeding from this wonderful mare as she is both homebred and has the potential to produce many more superb foals as good as the one she currently has at foot.  However, Pandora was bred to event and her evident talent in this area should be utilised and given the opportunity to shine.  I have no rider and struggle to get my stallions ridden by talented riders and so it with enormous regret that she must be sold to a home who will progress her in competitive sport.

She is now five years old and ready to start under saddle. She has no stable vices and is fantastic to handle in all situations being calm, mannerly and willing to please.

She is tall, powerfully built and as beautiful as you can get with her finely chiselled head, lovely length of neck and correct, athletic conformation. This lovely young horse is elegance personified, demonstrating expressive paces, she is also one of the kindest, most eager to please horses with a remarkable attitude.

A beautifully proportioned horse with natural grace, a willing, gentle nature and without a doubt has potential as a competitor in any of the three Olympic disciplines should we decide to back her upon weaning.

With a family tree of proven performance bloodlines of predominantly eventing providence, there is also a healthy infusion of both dressage and showjumping talent.

GFS  Pandora

A little about her breeding

Pandora's Sires lines

By GFS Fire and Ice our own young AES Graded stallion. His sire Colourthyme Kajika who stood with us for many years is a rare breed knabstrupper x Kinsky warmblood . There is a page describing his ancestry on this website.

Fire and Ice's dam,  is by the leading sire of event horses Rock King. Himself the sire of the Olympic eventer Rock Model. He also sired four competitors at the 2008 CCI **** at Luhmuhlen.

Rock King was renowned for his fantastic temperament, excellent paces and superb jumping technique. As a four year old Rock King won the Stoneways Potential Showjumper and was in the final twelve for the Young Event Horse Class. From there his career sky rocketed. Sadly, his career was tragically cut short whilst competing at Tweeseldown Horse Trials in 2000 where he sustained a fatal injury. He was at that time already Advanced, accruing over 200 BE points during his short career which would otherwise undoubtedly have seen him feature in many major horse trials.

He was sired by, Just a Monarch. A stallion that has produced many superb competition stock over the years. Many of his proven progeny including the International Event Horses, Kings Jester, Just an Ace and Midnight Monarch, as well as point-to-pointer Mark Methane who has won over 30 races.

Her damsire is none other than the legendary Bohemond, producer of eventers extraordinaire including this years

PANDORA'S DAM LINE

His dam is by the Danish Warmblood Crown's Ace of Pearl who is a stallion who has acquitted himself as a true athlete as a showjumper, in the dressage arena and eventing.

His sire Crown's Blue Pearl, following in his own illustrious sires footsteps was not only the Gold Medal Stallion of the Year in 2007 but also a GP showjumping International.

This stunning filly's dams line is sired by the precocious and celebrated TB stallion Hubbly Bubbly, sired by and with a double cross to Mr Prospector.

This ancestry is directly linked to the inimitable Secretariat

Chestnut filly - To make 16.2hh minimum

https://sporthorse-data.com/pedigree/gfs-zingalina

.

There is some serious jumping talent to be found in this filly's pedigree and her dam Zievident is of course the dam of the eventing 'wonderchild' GFS Moonlight Echo and GFS Rapunzel who are both in a professional eventers yard being aimed for the top end of the sport!

This lovely looking girl is a tremendously powerfully built yearling with a big trot, lovely uphill, balanced canter and a ground covering gallop.

She is bred to compete and whether it is to show jump, event or even perhaps dressage, she will present a very exciting prospect for anyone looking to produce a young horse with ambitions to aim high!

She has a big character, exhibits great intelligence and a natural aptitude for rapid understanding and willingness to cooperate.  She is powerfully built yet retains great elegance. She represents an opportunity for an ambitious rider to produce a young horse who is going to be tremendously rewarding and will be a lot of fun to get to know. This is an impressive horse with a lot of presence and  an abundance of potential.

This filly is lovely to handle, she has no vices and demonstrates  enormous promise.

GFS Zingalina (2020)

Breeding

This filly has exceptional jumping lines throughout her pedigree.  Her dam is by the super GP showjumping stallion Karandasj, a stallion renowned for both his jumping ability and rideability. A top WBFSH ranked sire of both eventers and showjumpers.

Izzy's dam was an International GP dressage mare with a fascinating amalgamation of both dressage and showjumping bloodlines and by the KWPN stallion Hofnar. This is a very strong motherline and it has shone through in her offspring to date.

Her sire the young AES Graded stallion GFS Eskimo Jo whose first real crop of foals this year has been very encouraging. His sire whom we also own is currently competing Novice level BE with both the scope and talent to progress once the season recommences! His dam was a Graded Holsteiner by Corrado I out of a Landgraf mare.

Sired by our own young stallion Paddy of Liosin. His bloodlines are predominantly of show jumping providence. His sire is Crown's Ace of Pearl a stallion who has been campaigned extensively as show jumper, dressage and eventer, he is by the ZfdP International GP show jumping stallion, Crown's Blue Pearl. A horse bred from the rare and multi talented Kinsky breeding program and infused with high performance thoroughbred bloodlines. The German stallion A-Dur compliments this impressive jumping providence.

Paddy's dam is by Olympic Lux (Lux Z/Lord Calando/Ahorn Z x Ahorn/Nimmerdor/Vicomte Grandieux), the KWPN stallion and prolific sire of of over 15 show jumpers and 15 eventers, all competing at top level. His sire, Lux Z has made an enormous impact on Holsteiner sports breeding. As well as being an Olympic show jumper he has sired over 60 show jumpers and significant numbers of both eventers and dressage horses.

Mojo's dam, N-She's All, a Head Stud Book and premium graded Holsteiner is 100% jump bred. Her sire, Corrado is yet another Olympian with over 120 show jumping progeny to date. He is considered as the founder of a Holsteiner sire line of his own! In his stallion performance test he scored an unprecedented 10 for both his loose jump and that under saddle.

Corrado is by Cor de la Bryere, a stallion that revolutionised the jumping horses' breeding. He too had an incredible impact in Holsteiner and he occurs in more than 80% of the top performance pedigrees as well as being credited with improving the breed's jumping technique. His sire Rantzau was from 1971-1973 the leading sire of dressage horses, show jumpers and event horses in France. He is regarded as the best thoroughbred stallion who ever entered the French sport horse breeding industry.

Corrado's dam, Soleil was a Nations Cup eventer and was herself by the extraordinary jumper, Capitol I, a stallion known to have 'put wings' on a legion of offspring. It is thanks to his influence that the Cottage Son xx line became one of the most influential thoroughbred infusions in Holstein breeding.

Holsatia IX, 'Mojo's' dams dam, was by the show jumping Olympian/World Championship stallion Landgraf I. Labeled by many as the 'stallion of the Century'. Immortalised in bronze at Elmshorn where he stands as the symbol of the modern Holsteiner Sport Horse. Her dam, Wicke III was by Caletto II (a son of Cor de a Bryere).

The evident potential in 'Mojo's bloodlines and the legendary ancestry that graces this stunning young horses pedigree indicates true potential on paper and his Grading results when presented to the Anglo European Studbook certainly seem to add gravitas to this.

GFS Lord of the Dance x Neforia ZB

Palomino Gelding to make 16.1 -16.2hh

https://sporthorse-data.com/pedigree/gfs-appassionato

SOLD

This is our third GFS Lord of the Dance and Neforia foal with very good reason!  This pairing has produced two exceptional foals to date, one with a professional eventer and the other purchased by a fellow breeder in the US to be professionally produced

These siblings have all shared  exceptional beauty , enormous presence that cannot help but draw admiring glances, they  have all been naturally uphill and seem to 'float'. They tend to be  super intelligent, supple, balanced, fast and fluid through all paces;  poetry in motion!

For the serious amateur or professional the horses from this breeding are bursting with talent and the type of sensitivity that make them completely in tune with their riders and a keen wish to bond with those they trust.

They are as fast as lightning, a joy to watch float across the arena and without a doubt balanced and brave enough to tackle any cross country course with the right training or indeed any other equestrian disciple where  talent, willingness to perform and style are requisite.

This very flashy, athletic and staggeringly beautiful young horse is sure to turn heads wherever he goes.  He is highly intelligent, keen to please and a genuinely lovely character on every level.

GFS Appassionato (2020)

Breeding

ZB Neforia is a very refined, elegant and feminine mare. She is Graded in to the KWPN as Ster Preferent. Retired from a dressage career due to her inability to settle at competitions. She had been purchased at the Brightwells Star of the Future sales.

This is a very beautiful looking mare, lovely to deal with and is the product of some very prolific bloodlines. Her sire, San Remo (Wolkentanz/Weltmeyer/Volturno) was successfully campaigned by Edward Gal. A stallion whose female progeny number more than seven ster Preferent.

Neforia's dam is an Elite GP dressage mare by Haarlem (Voltaire/Legaat). Haarlem is the son of successful stallion.  Voltaire jumped internationally under Jos Lansink and Emile Hendrix.  His reputation has grown through siring international offspring of great jumping and dressage talents.

The sire of GFS Appassionato is our own GFS Lord of the Dance.  Django is unique in that his breeding is unreplicated in the typical European Dilute Warmblood horse. There is none of the usual Kinsky breeding, none of the commonly seen Polish Warmblood breeding and none of the popular but often replicated dilute German bloodlines used so extensively to produce dilute warmbloods.

His breeding is both rare and of exciting, historical ancestry on his sires side. Rare and sought after Russian Trakehner and Akhal Teke performance breeding of incredible quality course through this special young stallions pedigree. Bloodlines specifically developed to produce offspring with exceptional temperament, excellent movement, stamina, heart and the agility of a cat.

His dam hails from proven Hanoverian jumping and eventing lines on her sires side and some incredible high performance and big winning thoroughbreds on her dams.

SOLD

This really lovely looking bay colt has enormous presence, elegance and  super conformation with all the obvious attributes of a real athlete.  He has a highly attractive head and moves with grace, power and purpose.

His dam is by the Grand Prix dressage stallion Treliver Decanter and out of an Elite Graded SH(GB) mare by the Saddlers Wells bred stallion Accondy.  Her dam sire is World Cup, the GP dressage stallion and sire of many top dressage horses.

Sahara is a lighter type mare who looks very similar in type to her TB ancestry and as I believed, this breeding has benefitted from the infusion of body and power that 'Mojo' has brought to the party with his strong showjumping pedigree.

I always try to breed as ever a horse that would be capable of any job but who would show real talent as an eventer in time.

This colt looks to have the balance and natural elasticity of of an athlete capable of making as much as a mark in the show jumping ring as the dressage arena and clearly enough power, strength and speed to handle the biggest of cross country tracks.

Kalahari has a lot of style and a nice temperament, he will be a big, strong horse at maturity and has the credentials to be an enormously exciting prospect for an ambitious rider.

This very beautiful colt has had a challenging start in life. Orphaned within  minutes of his birth, he is just such a courageous and likeable character.  He has a high percentage of blood and  would be eminently suitable for the sport of eventing.

His dam was by Kings Composer who has sired many successful show and event horses and she was out of another of our precious broodmares Treloan Tiger Lily who is by Ameriggo Vespucci and out of a Shaab mare so the breeding for eventing promise is written in every line of his pedigree. In addition to this, it is a bloodline that guarantees offspring both incredibly attractive and highly trainable with incredible temperaments and an innate willingness to please.

His sire GFS Lord of the Dance is also of a high and desirable bloodhorse percentage carrying Russian Trakehner, Akhal Teke and TB parentage.

Dragon is a lovely character with a superb temperament and the most relaxed character. Absolutely nothing bothers this calm, collected and bold fellow.  He adores people, attention and is a delightful  young horse with a very bright future.

He is incredibly beautiful and will be highly trainable and talented under saddle as well as being a horse who craves a one on one relationship with a lot of attention and admiration!

March 2021

Breeding

GFS Dragon Heart's dam was a daughter of my beloved mare Treloan Tiger Lily.  She was 3/4 bred thoroughbred by the renowned Sport Horse Stallion Kings Composer. King was the overall BEF Leading Stallion in 2007 and has proved himself a very sought after and versatile stallion siring many successful event horses, show jumpers and county show horses. Her G.Sire's Ameriggo Vespucci and Shaab on her dam's side are undoubtedly two exceptional sires of top eventing prospects and bloodlines who produce both talent and exceptional temperament.

Dragon's sire GFS Lord of the Dance is homebred and by a stallion that I imported as a yearling from Estonia (Destello).  Both these super stallions breeding and details are well documented on their own pages on this website.  With their combined pedigrees they bring a rare and desirable blood infusion of of the distinguished Russian Trakehner in it's purest form and top performance, the exotic and mysterious Akhal Teke of Turkmenistan, renowned for extraordinary stamina, agility, bravery and loyalty and American thoroughbred  bloodlines of incredible speed and talent as well as a pinch of Hannovarian gravitas and physical power.

This colt is big, he is powerful, fast, athletic, full of presence, incredibly handsome and  his temperament is absolutely superb.

Destiny (Liosin Lux) has made a career of producing exceptional offspring.  She is so good at it that occasionally she surprises us with two!!  She is a born broodmare despite having shown prodigious talent as a youngster over fences.  An injury which sidelined her for a season and caused her original owner to put her in foal unearthed such qualities as a broodmare that she has remained in the job since! Half brother to Paddy of Liosin as well as several eventers and a show jumper, this youngster is showing all the promise of being a very exciting prospect with either professional or amateur rider with lofty ambition! He is really rather special and has inherited both his dam and his sires wonderful character, great beauty and physical attributes making him a very desirable future prospect under saddle and in competition.

One week old

Breeding

Liosin Lux is also the dam of our Graded stallion Paddy of Liosin. She is by the KWPN stallion Olympic Lux. He is a proven sire of remarkable progeny. He competed up to six years of age jumping National 1.30m classes. He comes from the same mareline that has produced the stallions Tenerife VDL and Quasimodo Z to name but a few. His dam Filomin is a Keur mare and a GP showjumper. Second dam Wilomena II is half sister to the great showjumper Paloma.

Olympic Lux has sired International showjumpers but is also a dual purpose sire with many successful eventing progeny.

Sired by Lux Z, one of the most successful stallions in International showjumping. He competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. A winner of over a million euro, his pedigree is something of a blue chip dynasty in the world of International competition, with a litany of champions peppering every extension of the family tree!

Strong performance providence within both dressage and jumping capabilities and superb temperament is the result of the amalgamation of this breeding and this foal has the physical attributes and temperament to train at the highest level.  The quality of breeding is evident in this colt's conformation, his effortless power and suppleness in motion and his superb attitude.

This colt is beautifully put together, he is naturally very uphill with a big expressive trot and  pleasing elastic paces.  He has a calm, gentle character with an impressive presence and self carriage.  His breeding marks him as a potential jumper, eventer or dressage prospect with the type of breeding that ensures not only versatility under saddle, but plenty of talent to nurture and direct under saddle with a good brain and a sensible attitude.

This was a breeding that I had wanted to repeat for some time having bred a super filly many years ago who was a full sister and absolutely sensational. I have not been disappointed other than I would have preferred a filly!

This colt has benefitted enormously from the very best qualities of both dam and sire.  He has strong, compact and impressive conformation with long strong limbs and an ideally shouder, neck  and back.  He has a very pretty head too.  He has a super big, springy trot, a flowing canter that demonstrates strength and suppleness from head to toe and he has the gallop of a born eventer.

Both dam and sire move very well and both have a tremendous scopey, stylish jump.

He is a lovely looking foal and has a super temperament which i one of our 'trademark'  qualities in all the foals we breed.

She also gave birth to Contendro’s full sister, BB Caretana, ridden by Niklaus Schurtenberger of Switzerland, a highly successful international show jumping mare.

As expected, her foals with us to date have been nothing short of outstanding. Each blessed with absolutely superb paces and movement, exceptional natural athletic prowess and intelligent, willing outlooks.

The sire of this lovely colt is Paddy of Liosin. Paddy is by Crown's Ace of Pearl a stallion who has proven himself versatile and demonstrated consistent results in all three of the Olympic disciplines and a sire of really super offspring competed in numerous disciplines and renowned for the superb temperament that this lovey stallion stamps his offspring with..

Paddy's grandsire; Crown's Blue Pearl is both a showjumping International and the Danish Gold Medal winning stallion of the year 2007.

A dual purpose sire with many successful eventing progeny, he was sired by Lux Z, one of the most successful stallions in International showjumping. He competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
