GFS Hi Jinx (2017)

Colourthyme Kajika x Folly's Rock

(Rock King/Bohemond)

Reg: Anglo European Studbook

A  full sister to GFS Fire and Ice.  She is absolutely everything we could have wished for when planning her breeding; tall, a big powerful mover who just loves to jump and can barely keep her feet on the ground. She of course has the very beautiful head of both her brother and sire (Colourthyme Kajika) as well as their wonderful personalities and incredible temperaments.

She moves with great purpose and style, her absolute presence and physical capabilities being obvious from the first stride.  She has a great deal of speed and built to power over jumps.

Jinx is powerfully built and would easily carry weight if necessary. She is very light on her feet and a real powerhouse, using her body with every step and in every pace. Her movement is big and showy without looking unnatural and her attitude is pure gold.

Had it not been for the uncertainty that Covid has brought to our lives, Jinx would have been started under saddle this year and aimed at BYEH classes. She will be started after weaning and have a competitive career planned for her future.

A little bit about her breeding...

Her sire Colourthyme Kajika was one of our foundation stallions, his foals are easily recognisable by their strong, compact physiques, strong backs, powerful build and stunning heads. Their temperaments have always been simply amazing; highly people oriented, genuine and incredibly willing under saddle.

Kajika's foals have an extraordinary bond with people from the start, quick to learn, eager to please and very gentle. Highly sociable and with a great natures, these special individuals stand with such pride and presence. Their movement is extravagant, floating and rhythmic and to date, once in their new homes...they are there for life!

These are the ultimate high end amateur horses, family friends or superb all rounders with style, pizazz, huge potential and huge characters!

Kajika is bred from both rare and sought after bloodlines. His sire line are from exceptional Danish Knabstrupper ancestry with TB bloodlines tracing back to the legendary racehorse, Eclipse! and his dam lines are of the the multi talented and highly versatile all round Czech Kinsky Warmblood, carrying the highly prized Trakehner blood tracing directly back through Pythagoras/Dampfross and to the Godolphin Arabian and Bryerly Turk. these are two of the three Arabian Stallions responsible for the thoroughbred horse.

Ark Angel CS  (2012)

Arko III x Calvados

Reg: Anglo European Studbook

16 HH

Angel is by the incredible Olympic show jumper Arko III and out of a mare by Calvados who competed at 1.60. She had competed to Novice under the name of Double M Tarko with 124 points before being sold to an amateur home a couple of years ago. Her jumping pedigree is impeccable with Grand Prix and 1.60 jumpers featuring on virtually every line of both her dam and sires pedigree.

This mare is glamorous, talented and such a wonderful character.  Miss personality plus, she is a born show off, incredibly loving and the kindest natured horse.

I feel blessed to own her and as injury has halted her show jumping career, I have every hope and expectation that she will be a simply superb broodmare and hopefully, a mother of many champions to come.

Her sire Arko III represented Great Britain at the 2004 Athens Olympics which tops the lengthy list of outstanding International wins including the richest competition in the world, the Calgary CN Grand Prix 2008.

Arko's earning to date are over 1 million pounds and he was number one horse in Europe for three consecutive years. His breeding is impeccable with both dam and sire being of prodigious talent and bred from a long line of incredible performance ancestry and progenitors of the same.

Angels dam sire Calvados was bred from the best French performance bloodlines. Renowned as a leading sire of show jumpers as well as eventers and dressage horses. A Grand Prix showjumper himself, his sire the Selle Francais Uriel was leading French sire for many years with a breeding index of 211 (the highest figure ever in France). Although he was bred on a limited scale, he has numerous international offspring jumping at Grand Prix level.

This is a mare with a very talented family tree and some very big names to live up to!

Double Dutch CKV

Indoctro x Colino

Double Dutch CKV

This majestic 17.1hh KWPN mare is by Indoctro (also sire of Wantasia) He is one of my favourite stallions and a steadfast feature of the WBFSH Rankings for both show jumping and eventing. She hails from a superb mother line with a dam who has jumped to 1.20 herself.

DD, or the Duchess as she has become known here had three top three placings, including 19 wins up to 1.30. She was third in the joint RLF Blue Chip Final in 2016 and won the 1.25 final in 2017. In 2016 she finished 2nd in the Foxhunter 2nd Rounds and was one of only two triple clears, qualifying for the final at HOYS Unfortunately her riders broken collar prevented her jumping.

Chip Final with a 6th but that was sadly cancelled nted her jumping. She had also qualified for both the 1.10 Blue Chip Final with a third and the 1.25 Blue Chip Final with a 6th in 2020 with her new rider which was sadly cancelled due to you know what!

A little About her Breeding

Indoctro is her sire and a living legend and is among the world's best sires. His offspring achieve successes at the highest level. At the Olympic Games in 2008, three horses by Indoctro attended: VDL Orestus, Don Porfirio and Picolien Zeldenrust. In Holland he is known as VDL Indoctro, while in Germany, following the Holstein naming custom, he is C-Indoctro. By any name he is one of the world’s most successful jumping sires. The 27-year-old is still available chilled in 2017, with excellent semen quality and very high rates of pregnancy.

After being Champion of his stallion test, Indoctro went on to a successful international jumping career with Ulrich Kirchhoff. His main value has been as a breeding stallion, standing as one of VDL's foundation sires. Indoctro has been such a success as a sire for the KWPN studbook, that at the age of 16 he received the title: ‘Preferent’.

Indoctro is a hugely successful Capitol I/Caletto II cross. Capitol I is a real rarity in the ranks of Holsteiner stallions – a showjumping sire, whose name begins with ‘C’, who is not related to Cor de la Bryère! Nor for that matter, is he related to that other pillar of Holsteiner breeding, Landgraf, which means he adds variety into any breeding programme founded on those lines. Capitol's grand-dam Vase was champion mare of Holstein, while her full-brother, Roman, topped the German showjumping standings for two years running with Hans-Gunter Winkler. Vase’s daughter, Folia, by Maximus (himself an advanced showjumper), foaled five stallions: Latus I and II (both by Landgraf), and then Capitol. Capitol was by Capitano, who is by Corporal out of Retina. Retina won the Hamburg Derby with Fritz Thiedemann in the saddle.

His dam Vanessa VII also produced two full brothers, C-Indoctro II and the Olympic showjumper, National Guard, ridden by Fahad Al Geaid. Damsire Caletto I is a son of the great Cor De La Bryère, while third sire Calypso was also a foundation Holstein stallion.

Indoctro's offspring speak for themselves. Some famous offspring include Casadora, Black Ice, Maddock, Nassau, Orame, Youp, VDL Masseratie, Mustique, Minka's Diamond, Nike, Nadia, Patrick VII, Kassandre Erger Kerbo, Wittinger, Sheraton, Sr. Doctro, Tavanta, Tyson, Ulano Ultimate, and Induction. At championships worldwide there are always Indoctro sons and daughters competing - at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, Indoctro was represented five times, including by Imothep, who finished 12th individually. Always There won the World Championship for five-year-old jumpers and was also the Dutch Jumping Champion. Van Schijndel's Concrex Owaola became Dutch Eventing Champion and Zirano V was Dutch Jumping Champion. Vedor was World Champion 6 year old jumpers and Ubalia became World Champion by the 7 year olds. Boss VDL and VDL Orame became in their years Champion of the KWPN Stallion approvals. Ultimate was Dutch Jumping Champion of the 4 year olds. Indoctro is the leading sire in the USEF ranking of jumping horses, while in 2016 he is ranked 18th on the WBFSH Sire Rankings.

Her dam jumped to 1.20 and was by the great Capitol I stallion Colino.

This lovely mare is Sligo Candy Boy Is An Outstanding Irish Sports Horse Stallion By Balou De Rouet

The Irish Sports Horse Society describe him during his second stage assessments as “…a very attractive modern sport horse. He has a quality in all paces with a light balanced canter. When jumping he has excellent reflexes, with good bascule. He is very good behind and a little open in front which is understandable for his age (4 years). He shows ample scope and looks very careful, obedient, responsive and willing.” He is certainly a wet made good looking stallion standing in Sligo for Padcraig Howley.

Balou de Rouet, his Sire, is a consistently popular stallion with an excellent temperament and movement with a powerful jump. In 2013, the year of Sligo Candy Boy’s Stallion testing in Ireland, Balou De Rouet was ranked 77 (WBFSH stallion list) in the world and the following year made a meteoric rise to 36th due to the successes of his offspring.

At Windsor in May Sligo /candy Boy had a fantastic show he got placed in the sports horse class. Came 6th in the royal international worker qualifier and placed in the 6 year old show jumping class.

GFS Pandora

GFS Fire and Ice x Crown's Ace of Pearl/Hubbly Bubbly

Spotted Double Dilute

Reg: Anglo European Studbook

This filly is an incredibly rare double dilute warmblood who also carries the Lp gene. Capable of producing both dilute, double dilute and a 50% chance of spotted offspring too!

Pandora would be equally impressive were she simply bay or chestnut.

She is tall,  powerfully built and as beautiful as you can get with her finely chiselled head, lovely length of neck and correct, athletic conformation. This lovely young horse is elegance personified, demonstrating expressive paces, she is also one of the kindest, most eager to please  horses with a remarkable attitude.

A beautifully proportioned  horse with natural grace, a willing, gentle nature and without a doubt has potential as a competitor in any of the three Olympic disciplines should we decide to back her upon weaning.

With a family tree of proven performance bloodlines of predominantly eventing providence, there is also a healthy infusion of both dressage and  showjumping talent.

GFS  Pandora

A little about her breeding

Pandora's Sires lines

By GFS Fire and Ice our own young AES Graded stallion. His sire Colourthyme Kajika who stood with us for many years is a rare breed knabstrupper x Kinsky warmblood . There is a page describing his ancestry on this website.

Fire and Ice's dam,  is by the leading sire of event horses Rock King. Himself the sire of the Olympic eventer Rock Model. He also sired four competitors at the 2008 CCI **** at Luhmuhlen.

Rock King was renowned for his fantastic temperament, excellent paces and superb jumping technique. As a four year old Rock King won the Stoneways Potential Showjumper and was in the final twelve for the Young Event Horse Class. From there his career sky rocketed. Sadly, his career was tragically cut short whilst competing at Tweeseldown Horse Trials in 2000 where he sustained a fatal injury. He was at that time already Advanced, accruing over 200 BE points during his short career which would otherwise undoubtedly have seen him feature in many major horse trials.

He was sired by, Just a Monarch. A stallion that has produced many superb competition stock over the years. Many of his proven progeny including the International Event Horses, Kings Jester, Just an Ace and Midnight Monarch, as well as point-to-pointer Mark Methane who has won over 30 races.

Her damsire is none other than the legendary Bohemond, producer of eventers extraordinaire including this years

Her dam is by the Danish Warmblood Crown's Ace of Pearl who is a stallion who has acquitted himself as a true athlete as a showjumper, in the dressage arena and eventing.

His sire Crown's Blue Pearl, following in his own illustrious sires footsteps was not only the Gold Medal Stallion of the Year in 2007 but also a GP showjumping International.

This stunning filly's dams line is sired by the precocious and celebrated TB stallion Hubbly Bubbly, sired by and with a double cross to Mr Prospector.

This ancestry is directly linked to the inimitable Secretariat

AWE Supernova (2015)

Sir Shutterfly x Branco van Overis

Reg: Anglo European Studbook

I would like to introduce you to this rather lovely five year old mare; AWE Supernova, otherwise known as Bambi has come to us from her breeder Amber Woodhouse of Amber Woodhouse Equestrian. She is a lovely, powerfully built horse with a fantastic attitude, superb temperament and a natural love and talent jumping.

Bambi enjoyed a busy 4yo spring season, scoring a 28 dressage in her first combined training dressage test, storming round her first event like a pro and earning one of the highest jumping marks at Badminton BYEH 4yo class. She is now taking a break from competition due to Ambers current commitments to join us and hopefully breed us a special 2021 foal!

This super young horse is by Sir Shutterfly, the full brother to Meredith Beerbaum's brilliant showjumper Shutterfly. This stallion has a lot of thoroughbred quality with great power, speed and a good technique which makes him an ideal sire of both eventers and showjumpers. He has an exceptional pedigree; his sire Silvio is regarded as one of the most prominent Sandro offspring in the breeding world.

Her dam is by Branco van Ovaris (Parco/Darco) out of a Concorde mare so her jumping credentials and pedigree are superb.

Bambi is a super mare who has fitted in very quickly, settled almost instantly and a real delight to welcome to the family. I have high hopes that her 2021 GFS Fire and Ice foal is going to be something very special.

Previous GFS Broodmares

We have been fortunate to have been the proud owners of so many broodmares over the years, some have moved to pastures new and many have sadly passed. Each have been cherished members of our family and brought tremendous joy.

I will continue to add these special horses. There have been many before but I have started with the very special two ladies who have produced our two junior stallions; GFS Eskimo Jo and GFS Lord of the Dance.

I have many more old friends to add, but beneath are some very special ladies, three of which  have produced three of our stallions, now Graded and Licensed with AES.

'Some mares are simply irreplaceable. They have a kindness, wisdom and generosity like no other. They produce superb offspring and mother them well, teaching them manners, kindness and respect. Their presence in your life is a blessing and the imprint they leave on your heart is a gift. Blessed are the broodmares and those lucky enough to have their lives blessed by them x' - Tania Mackee

Folly's Rock

Rock King x Bohemond

Standing at a big, powerful 16.3hh Folly is one of my foundation mares and the cherished dam of GFS Fire and Ice. Bred by the legendary Rock King and out of a mare by the prolific sire of eventers; Bohemond, she is 75% thoroughbred with 25% Weatherby's approved Connemara thrown in to the mix! This mare is highly athletic with an enormous jump and lovely straight, elastic movement. Highly intelligent and incredibly brave, a misdiagnosed injury curtailed a brief but promising eventing career and thus began her highly successful career as a broodmare.

Folly consistently throws big, powerful movers with natural balance, speed and gentle natures.

She is a real character and thoroughly enjoys human attention, engaging willingly and always with a genuinely kind attitude.

Folly, Ice's dam is a big moving and very powerful mare, retired from Eventing due to an accident. She had been progressing very well through the rankings until misfortune hit! She has proven however to be the most amazing broodmare and has previously bred two Premium Graded foals.

Folly is by the leading sire of event horses Rock King. Himself the sire of the Olympic eventer Rock Model. He also sired four competitors at the 2008 CCI **** at Luhmuhlen.

Rock King was renowned for his fantastic temperament, excellent paces and superb jumping technique. Rock Kings' dam, Rockys Double and Grand dam, Farley Mount were both prolific producers of CCI **** Eventers, including; Double Trust, Alfresco, Trust in me and Kilcashel.

Folly's damsire is none other than the legendary Bohemond, HIS Premium stallion and sire of double Olympic event mare Withcote Nellie and dam sire of NZ WEG Team horse Classic Moet, this years Badminton winner.

Her dam's dam was a Connemara jumping pony, Spring Fidgit which is where her glorious golden colour and very pretty almost 'pony' head.

Both Folly's sire and dam can trace their ancestry back to Pharos, with a great number of highly acclaimed racehorse royalty adorning the family tree in between.

Treloan Simply Red

Kngs Composer x Ameriggo Vespucci/ Shaab

On Thursday night as my beautiful Treloan Simply Red lay down to foal, it quickly became apparent that something was terribly wrong. As veterans of so very many foaling scenarios over the years and a lifetimes experience of all type of livestock midwifery at hand, it was rapidly obvious that saving the foal who was presenting upside down was going to be the best case scenario, if highly unlikely.

It is a tribute to the exceptional skills of Brian Smith who against all odds managed to guide him into the world with a steely determination and the angels on side, our incredible vets who arrived at speed, in force and with typical efficiency, that my beautiful lady left this world with dignity. Before the shock and adrenaline of her ordeal wore off, she had a brief opportunity to welcome her little man with clear delight and the unadulterated pride and love that is the gift of a mother.

I count the many blessings that have arisen from this devastation even as it felt that my heart was splintering into a thousand tiny pieces.

I had the opportunity to spend a part of my life with a mare who gave nothing but love. A sweet, special soul with an immense generosity of spirit and genuine kindness. She was the daughter of my beloved Treloan Tiger Lily and was an integral part of our bigger animal family that encompasses so many wonderful characters, past and present who continue to make our lives such a huge adventure each day.

Treloan Simply Red has left a huge legacy as well as a hole in our hearts. She will forever be missed and always remembered with such deep affection.

Sleep peacefully my beautiful girl.

Diamond Green/Green Desert/Danzig x Rahy/Blushing Groom/Ack Ack

KissMe is quite the most uniquely and beautifully marked Weatherby's registered thoroughbred mare. Absolutely no mixed breed blood. Exceptional not only for her extreme sabino markings, she also has two china blue eyes!

As fast as lightning, this mares feet are rarely on the ground long! She is ultra athletic, with huge stamina and the ability to turn on a 'spinning sixpence' and a simply amazing character, full of fun, mischief but ultimately a real people person.

She is by the multiple winning racehorse Diamond Green (Green Desert/Danzig/Northern Dancer) and out of a Rahy mare with lines boasting multiple Group one winners and ancestry tracing back to War Admiral.

N-She's All - 'Aunty Alice' (1998 - 2014)

Corrado I/Cor de la Bryere/Capitol I x Landgraf/Caletto/Ladykiller

Dam of GFS Eskimo Jo

'Aunty Alice' was so called due to her gentle loving nature and the enormous love and protection that she showed all of the foal and youngsters. Standing a little over 17.3hh, her statueque beauty and huge presence made her stand out from the herd at any distance. She was a horse with no compare, her nobility was undeniable.

She was a Premium Graded Holsteiner mare and ex show jumper with placings German Kl.L + Kl.M. Her breeding read like a who's who of equine superstars. By Corrado I (Cor de la Bryere/Capitol I) and out of  a Landgraf/Caletto mare.

This mare was a real character and an absolute darling, always to be missed and never forgotten. We have been blessed with a wonderful colt, her last foal whom we retined.

GFS Eskimo Jo was Graded and Licensed by the AES in 2016 as a two year old and is a worthy son of this great mae with absoutely outstanding Grading scores and his first two offspring on the ground in 2017.

Malibu Breeze

Malibu Galileo/Delta x Blushing Scribe/Super Concorde

Dam of GFS Lord of the Dance

As beautiful in nature as to the eye. This much loved mare was the epitome of the dream horse of so many. A tall, powerful and athletic mare with an absolutely unbelievable temperament. An amazing mother and the dam of two Licensed stallions, GFS Diamond Echo and GFS Mistral before producing our own GFS Lord of the Dance who Graded successfully and with hghly impressive scores with the Anglo European Studbook as a two year old in 2016.

Breeze was by the 17hh stallion Malibu Galileo a hugely promising young eventing stallion who was tragically lost as a young horse just as his career was starting so well. He dams lineage are of Group one thoroughbreds and her ancestry in five generations was 62.5% TB/Arab which made her an excellent choice as the dam of future eventing offspring.
